Expanded Course Description
This is the second term of a calculus sequence for students in business and the social sciences. Students will learn techniques and applications of integral calculus, derivatives and integrals of functions of several variables, the method of Lagrange multipliers, systems of linear equations, matrix algebra, systems of linear inequalities, and an introduction to linear programming. This course emphasizes modeling and applications to business and the social sciences. Applications include averages and moving averages, continuous income streams, present and future values, optimization and constrained optimization of functions of several variables, and systems of linear equations and inequalities in business and social sciences.
