Expanded Course Description
This course examines the social determinants of health and public health policies, including how they are shaped at the local, federal and international level. We also explore the intersection of public health with other issues around social and environmental justice, including cultural competency, natural disasters, criminal justice and international cooperation. This course uses a combination of lectures and case studies, so the course is very participatory and requires frequent student engagement.
