Ballet 152 introduces the fundamental elements of classical ballet technique. This studio technique course aims to prepare beginners to perform basic ballet exercises at the barre and in center work. Students will learn the six basic barre exercises, the cardinal directions of the room, basic jumps, and traveling steps. Special focus will be given to correct body alignment and movement execution, familiarity with basic ballet terminology, and musicality expressed through the ballet aesthetic. This course is open to non majors and minors.
