Expanded Course Description
Students conduct original research under the professor’s guidance to create a public, web-based project showcasing the Latino History of Eugene and Lane County, Oregon in the early twentieth century (http://lanehistory.uoregon.edu). They will learn how to use Wordpress to tell these stories on a public-facing website. Finally, they will work with a local teacher to turn a selection of these histories into usable lesson plans for local high schools. For more information, see: https://cas.uoregon.edu/cas-connection/in-focus/uncovering-hidden-figures. This course satisfies the US field requirement.
