Expanded Course Description
| In this capstone course, Digital Humanities minors develop public-facing scholarly projects that leverage digital technologies ethically, creatively, and critically. This spring, our class will collaborate on a multimedia digital edition of an eighteenth-century castaway novel, The Female American, Volume II (1767), for the open digital anthology Literature in Context. Building on work begun by UO students and faculty in past courses, we will publish an Open Educational Resource that enhances the text of the novel with archival page images, contextual annotations, images, audio recordings, geolocation information, and more. Each student will submit a final portfolio that showcases their individual contributions to the group project and highlights their strengths, priorities, and values as a digital scholar-maker.
