Expanded Course Description
In a workshop setting we trace the Brothers Grimm multidisciplinary and international networks between fairytale scholarship, mythology, linguistics, and legal studies. We will read sections from Jacob Grimm’s “Teutonic Mythology” and discuss their approach to the Humanities’ fracturing of the Anthropocene. Topics include: Gods, Goddesses, Wise Women, Elements, Trees, Herbs, Stones. Taught in Eng. Additional German readings are optional.
