Expanded Course Description
This course takes an intersectional approach to examining health and well-being. Intersections and interactions of race with other social, political and economic factors such as gender, class and ability are studied as the major determinants of the health of racialized and Indigenous groups, especially racialized women and Indigenous women in the United States. Topics covered in this course include: racism, colonialism, slavery, the environment, gender, health activism and healing.
