Expanded Course Description
This course will continue to develop students' language skills by building vocabulary and refining translation. Students will translate and study one of the following three genres: Ciceronian oratory, Augustan lyric and elegy, or a comedy of Terence. The goals of the class are to read Latin with increased ease and accuracy, and to gain an appreciation of Latin literary style, whether prose, poetry, or drama, as well as the culture of Republican and Augustan Rome.
