Expanded Course Description
This course is designed to develop skills, experience and awareness of contact improvisation. This course will also explore through acting and reacting, thinking and doing, the process and performance of contact improvisation. CI is a vital component of contemporary dance and is a kind of intelligence that can be applied in a myriad of contexts. Life itself can be viewed as a contact improvisation. CI takes many forms; we will explore as many as we can. Our focus will be on skill development and on CI as an act of listening. It is above all, the goal of this course to develop a level of comfort within a range of contact modes.
